Our Story

Born out of a love of creating fresh, seasonal and sustainably minded dishes The Blonde Beet began life at the end of 2019 with a couple “supper club” evenings from Jo’s home. The subsequent Covid-19 lockdowns forced a re-think and Jo turned her hand to providing hot food takeaways at weekends to Stamford and the surrounding area. With the dream to have space that people could come to enjoy the food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere , in March 2020 the Blonde Beet began the next phase of the growth and opened a premises in the heart of Stamford.

We serve coffee, but we’re not your typical coffee shop. Inspired by the great cafés of Europe, where conversation blooms and writers, artists, activists and intellectuals make their mark, we’ve made a conscious decision to slow things down. There’s no wifi, no television and no 30-minute maximum for our tables. Come and stay awhile.
